If you're looking for a short break with a difference then Iceland has so much to offer, whether it's to experience the country for the first time or simply as a quick reminder of its many charms.
Visit the world’s most northerly capital, Reykjavik. Unique and cosmopolitan, this compact city is full of life at any time of year, with a calendar of events that reflect the innate Icelandic culture as well as international 'cool'. But this city offers much more than a typical city break, with its proximity to an abundance of natural wonders.
Although Reykjavik is often considered as the first choice for a quick weekend or a mid-week escape, with fascinating places such as the Snaefellsnes Peninsula and the stunning south west region with just an hour or two of the capital, a short stay in the countryside is definitely worthwhile to immerse yourself in some of Iceland’s most iconic sights and dramatic scenery and very easy to arrange. And close to the international airport is the famous Blue Lagoon, the ideal place for a weekend of pampering!
A big thank you for all your help in organising our wonderful break to Iceland... a wonderful place and wonderful people and I hope one day to go back. Client quote from Tracy Street & Lindsey Yendle, Blue Lagoon Spa Break
With vehicles available from either Keflavik Airport or Reykjavik, as well as other locations throughout Iceland, a short break with car hire is a popular choice. You can choose to stay either in Reykjavik, out in the country, or a combination of the two!
Our suggested short break itineraries typically range from 3 to 4 nights, with a flexibility allowing you to add in as much or as little activity as you wish – you can fill your holiday with exciting new adventures, pick one or two special experiences, or simply soak up the scenery and natural wonders, taking each day as it comes. With a plethora of outstanding natural wonders on Reykjavik’s doorstep and just a three hour flight from the UK, even with a short city break in mind you may wish to consider staying that little bit longer!
